Jalaram Cement Pipe Factory

If you go behind the railway station in Virpur, you’ll find our pipe factory. The sound of the trains is something you just get used to after a while. It’s part of the background noise of the day. Jalaram is a small area, and everyone kind of knows where the railway station is, so finding us isn't too hard. We spend our days dealing with large cement pipes. They are incredibly heavy and you have to be careful when moving them around the yard. It’s not the kind of job for someone who wants to stay clean and tidy. There is always dust and the smell of wet concrete in the air. We’ve got a small group of guys who have been doing this for years. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s just the office by the gate and the open space where the pipes are stacked to dry. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult, turning the ground into a bit of a mess, but we manage somehow. We just keep moving the stock and taking the orders as they come in. It’s practical work. Nothing more, nothing less. We see the commuters coming and going from the station every day while we are loading up the trucks. It’s a busy little corner of Virpur. We’ve stayed here because it’s convenient and it’s where we started many years ago. It’s just how we live and work. We don't make a fuss about it.
