India Trading Company

We are based at E-18 in the Marketing Yard, which is where India Trading Company has been for a long time. The yard is a very busy place, especially early in the morning when the trucks start arriving with their loads. There is always a lot of shouting and the sound of engines in the background. Our unit is just one of many, but we have made it our own over the years. Inside, it is mostly just a desk and some chairs where we sit and talk to the drivers or the other traders. The floor is usually covered in a bit of dirt from the yard, and we don't really bother with making it look like a fancy corporate office. We deal with the day-to-day trading and keep track of everything in our books. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We don't have any big mission statements or marketing slogans. We just try to get the work done without making any mistakes. Sometimes we stand outside in the yard just to see what is coming in and out. It’s a tight-knit community here at the Marketing Yard, and we know most of the neighbors by their first names. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the shipments to be ready. It’s a simple routine, and we are quite content with how things go here at E-18.
