Murlidhar Engineering Works

Start with the location. Plot 386 in GIDC Dared. It's a busy place. We spend most of our time at Murlidhar Engineering Works just trying to get through the day's pile of work. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal. It gets hot in the summer, really hot under the tin roof, but we just keep the fans going. It’s not fancy. My hands are usually covered in some kind of oil or grease by ten in the morning. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Some days the power goes out and we just sit outside and talk until it comes back. It's just a regular shop where we fix things and make parts. People come by with all sorts of broken bits of machinery. Sometimes it’s a quick fix and other times we’re scratching our heads for hours. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner with too many papers on it. Most of the guys here live nearby so we all know each other's families. I guess it’s just how it is. We start early, drink a lot of tea, and try to finish before it gets too dark. If you walk past Plot 386 you’ll probably hear the lathe running. It’s loud and dusty, but it’s what we do. Nothing more, nothing less. It's just the way the day goes here at the workshop. We don't change much and we keep at it.
