Down here in Jamnagar, we do a lot of work with brass. J K Brass Products is right in the thick of it where all the manufacturing happens. If you walk through our doors, you’ll probably hear the machines running before you see anything else. It's a bit noisy and there's always a bit of dust in the air, but that’s just how a brass factory is. We make all sorts of small parts and fittings that people use without really thinking about it in their daily lives. We’ve been operating in Gujarat for years, and most of our guys have been with us for a long time. They know how to handle the lathes and the casting equipment without needing much direction from the office. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s just the workshop and a small office where we handle the orders and the billing. Most of our day is spent checking the quality of the pieces coming off the line. If a batch isn't right, we fix it right then and there. It's practical work. Jamnagar is known for this kind of stuff, so we’re just one part of a bigger community here. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we're logging a shipment or checking an email. Mostly, it’s about the metal and making sure the dimensions are what they’re supposed to be. It’s a simple life, focused on the manufacturing and making sure we get the products out on time to our customers. It's what we do every day.
