Kishan Cement

Kishan Cement is situated in Gandhi Chamber on Gondal Road. It’s a place that stays pretty dusty because of what we handle. Cement bags are heavy and they leave a fine powder on everything. If you come by, you’ll see us or the loaders moving bags from the trucks into the storage area. Gandhi Chamber is a well-known building, but it’s seen better days. We don't mind it, though. Gondal Road is a major route, so there’s always a truck or a tractor passing by. It’s a noisy spot, but it’s good for business because people can find us easily. We spend a lot of our time on the phone talking to contractors or writing out slips for deliveries. It’s physical work. Your clothes usually end up gray by the end of the shift. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a functional space where we keep the inventory dry and ready to go. The floor is concrete and there are stacks of bags reaching up toward the ceiling. Sometimes we sit out on the steps when it’s quiet just to catch a breeze and watch the traffic. We know the other folks in the building well. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just provide cement for the building projects going on around town. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it at this same location for quite some time now. We just focus on getting the orders out to the construction sites nearby.
