Adarsh Nivasi School

We are located just near the bypass highway over in Surendranagar. Since this is an Adarsh Nivasi school, the children actually stay here with us throughout the term. That means the whole place feels more like one big, busy house than just a regular school building. We have the sleeping dormitories on one side of the property and the classrooms on the other. There is a large kitchen where our cooks prepare big pots of dal, rice, and rotis every single day. It is quite a lot of work for the staff to manage both the teaching side and the living arrangements for so many kids. The students follow a very set routine, starting from the morning prayers all the way to their evening study hours. We have a large open area in the middle where they can play football or just sit on the ground and talk. Being so close to the highway, you can hear the heavy trucks passing by at all hours of the night, but eventually, it just becomes background noise that nobody notices. The staff members stay on-site too, so someone is always around if a student gets a stomach ache or starts feeling a bit homesick. We do not have many luxuries in this building. The beds are simple metal frames and the classrooms just have the basic necessities. We mostly focus on keeping the place clean and making sure everyone gets their meals on time.
