Ambuja Cement Ltd/Holcim

Our small office is based out of Flat No. A2-42 in the Ambuja Cements Colony, right here in the Rawan area. Being part of the Baloda Bazar district means things are a bit spread out, but living and working in the same colony makes it easy to manage the day-to-day. We mostly handle the paperwork and logistics for the cement moving through this part of Raipur. It’s not a fancy corporate building, just a regular residential flat that we’ve converted into a working space. There are desks pushed against the walls and stacks of files that always seem to be growing. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood outside, maybe some kids playing in the colony or a neighbor’s scooter starting up. The weather gets pretty hot in this part of Chhattisgarh, so we usually have the fans going full blast from morning until we lock up. We don’t really do anything flashy here. It’s just about making sure the trucks are on time and the orders are logged correctly in the books. Most of us have been around here for a while, so we know the local routes and the drivers quite well. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or so, and we just sit and have tea until it comes back on. It’s a quiet life in the colony, but there is always enough work to keep us busy until the sun goes down.
