This is our base for Jindal Steel & Power Limited in this part of Chhattisgarh. It’s a very industrial area, as you can probably imagine. Everything around here revolves around steel and power. The dust is something you just learn to live with, and there’s always the sound of machinery in the distance. Our office in the Godawari Block is where the administrative side of things happens. We handle the numbers, the planning, and the people side of the business. It’s a functional space meant for work, not for showing off. The Pin Code is 496 001. We’ve got people here who have been with the company since the early days in Raigarh. We know the roads, we know the local suppliers, and we know how to get things done when the pressure is on. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for keeping the bigger operations running. We spend our days staring at screens or talking to the guys out on the field. Lunch is usually a quick affair so we can get back to it.
