The Grand Restaurants

Our place is right on Grand Road in Puri, which is a very special spot because we’re so close to the Shree Jagannath Temple. You can feel the energy of the pilgrims and the crowds every single day from our front door. Because of where we are, it gets incredibly busy, especially during festival times when the whole street is packed with people. We try to keep things simple and efficient so we can serve as many people as possible without making them wait too long. The restaurant isn't about being fancy; it’s about providing a seat and a meal to people who have often traveled a long way to be here. We have big fans going to keep the air moving and long tables where different families often end up sitting together. It’s a noisy, lively atmosphere most of the time. We don’t spend any time on fancy ads because the location on Grand Road does the work for us. The kitchen is always on the go, and we go through a lot of rice and dal every day. Our staff is used to the fast pace and the heat of the summer months. It’s a lot of hard work, but being near the temple gives the work a different kind of meaning for us. We just focus on keeping the floors swept and the food ready for whoever walks in off the street. It’s just a regular part of life here in Puri.
