Our place is located inside the Naren Palace Hotel on Chakratirtha Road in Puri. Since we’re on the way to the station, we get a lot of travelers who have just arrived or are about to catch a train. Puri is a busy town, especially during the festivals, and our dining room fills up quickly with people visiting the temple or the beach. It’s not a quiet place, especially during the lunch hour when the kitchen is shouting out orders and the ceiling fans are buzzing. We’ve been here for a while, and the walls probably need a new coat of paint, but the atmosphere is friendly enough. Working in a hotel restaurant means we never really close; there's always someone needing breakfast or a late snack. We keep the menu straightforward because that’s what most people want when they’re traveling. Sometimes the sea breeze makes everything a bit salty, and we’re constantly wiping down the windows. It’s a lot of work keeping things running smoothly when the tourist season is at its peak. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here, just serving meals to whoever walks in from the station road. Most of our staff lives nearby and they know the shortcuts around town if you ever need directions. It’s a basic, functional spot for a meal while you are in this part of Odisha, and we try to make sure the water is always cold.
