Ruchika Restaurants

Ruchika Restaurants is located inside the Sonali Hotel in Puri. We’ve been operating here for a while, serving both the people staying at the hotel and those just walking in from the street. Being in Puri, we get a lot of visitors who are here for the temple or the beach. Our setup is quite simple. We use a part of the hotel building to run our kitchen and dining area. It isn't a five-star setup, but we keep the floors swept and the tables wiped down. Most of our days are spent prepping for the lunch and dinner crowds. The humidity in Puri can be quite something, especially in the kitchen, but we’re used to it by now. We don’t have a massive menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to a few dishes that we can make consistently every day. It’s a small team of us working here. Some of us handle the cooking while others take the orders and bring out the food. We don’t use any fancy advertising tricks to get people in. Usually, someone staying at the hotel eats here and then tells someone else. We’ve had some busy seasons and some slow ones too. That’s just how it goes in a tourist town like this. We aren’t trying to be the most famous place in Puri, just a reliable one where you can get a decent meal.
