Rockbay Restaurants

We are down in Puri, right on C T Road. We are part of the Rockbay Hotel. Being near the sea is definitely the best part about being here. The breeze comes in off the water and makes everything feel a little better. We started the restaurant because people staying at the hotel needed a place to eat that was not too complicated or expensive. We serve whatever we can find fresh that morning. Puri is a town that moves at its own pace, usually quite slow unless there is a festival. We have the temple nearby and the beach is just a short walk away. Our place has some outdoor seating which is nice in the evenings when it cools down. The chairs are just plastic and the tables are very simple. It is not a place where you have to dress up to get a meal. We get people coming in with sand on their feet sometimes. We just sweep it out and keep going. It is a family-run kind of thing for the most part. My uncle handles the kitchen and I stay out front. We do not have a big marketing plan. We just put a sign out on C T Road and hope for the best. Most people find us by accident or because someone told them we have good fish. We stay open late during the busy months. It gets very crowded then. But mostly it is just a steady flow of travelers.
