Puri Beach Restaurant

Our place is located on New Marine Drive Road in Puri. You can usually smell the salt in the air because the sea beach is right there. It is a simple building without any frills. We get many people coming in with sand on their clothes after they take a walk by the water. We don’t really mind the mess, we just sweep it up at the end of the day. The ocean breeze blows right through our doors. It keeps the place cool but also makes everything feel a little bit sticky from the salt. We serve mostly seafood, depending on what the local fishermen bring in each morning. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the catch wasn't very good that day. The kitchen is small and stays quite hot throughout the shift. We have a few tables set up outside under an old awning. It is a nice spot to sit and watch people heading down to the shore. We’ve been here for several years now. The salt air can be tough on the building, so we are often painting or fixing something. It isn’t a quiet place, especially when the waves are loud. We see a lot of travelers who just want a quick bite. We keep things basic. A cold drink and some fried fish is usually what people are looking for. It is just a local spot for anyone who wants to sit near the ocean.
