New Bhajahari Manna Restaurant

We are set up in Swargadwar, which is a busy part of Puri. Being near the coast means we get a lot of people visiting for the temples or the beach. New Bhajahari Manna is just a simple restaurant. We don't have air conditioning in every corner or velvet chairs. It is mostly wooden tables and the smell of cooking from the kitchen. We serve the kind of food that people in this region grew up eating. It is nothing fancy, just traditional stuff. Some days the humidity is high and the fans are going full blast. We try to get the food out as fast as we can, but when the tourist season hits, there is always a wait. We don't mind. It keeps us busy. I’ve lived in Puri all my life and working here feels natural. The staff are all local people. We know where to get the best produce in the mornings. You won't find a lot of decorations on the walls here. We focus more on making sure the rice is cooked right and the fish is fresh. It is a humble place. Travelers come in with sand on their shoes and we just give them a place to sit and eat. That is how it has always been for us. We just keep the doors open and the stove hot for anyone looking for a meal.
