Maa Uagratara Restaurant

Our restaurant is located right by the West Gate in Puri. It is a very special spot because of how close we are to the temple area. Every day, we see thousands of people walking by, many of them pilgrims who have traveled a long way. We open up early because the town starts moving before the sun is even fully up. The air here has that salty smell from the sea, and there is always a bit of a breeze coming through. We keep our place simple because that is what people looking for a meal in Puri usually want. It is just tables and chairs and a kitchen that stays busy from dawn until late at night. We serve the kind of meals that fill you up after a long day of walking. The staff here are mostly local people who know the area well. We don't have any fancy decorations or complicated systems. We just write down the orders and bring out the food as soon as it is ready. Sometimes it gets incredibly crowded during festival times, and we all have to work double shifts to keep things going. It can be tiring, but it is a good life being here in such a holy place. We just focus on our daily routine and try to make sure everyone who sits down at our table leaves with a full stomach.
