We've been here on Grand Road in Puri for quite some time now, right near Raja Nahar. Most people find us when they're visiting the temple or just walking around the Rani Nahara area. It’s a busy spot. We mostly focus on Marwadi style cooking because that is what we know. It's not a fancy place with air conditioning or soft chairs, but the benches are solid and the kitchen stays busy from morning till night. My family runs the floor and we keep the dal and rotis coming as fast as the stove allows. Sometimes it gets crowded and you might have to wait a few minutes for a seat, especially during the festival times when the whole street is packed with people. We use basic ingredients like what you'd have at home. No fancy decorations on the plates here, just food served on simple steel thalis. If you are looking for a quiet, expensive meal, this isn't it. It's loud, the fans hum all day, and there's a lot of chatter. We just try to make sure nobody leaves hungry. The location is easy to spot if you look for the old buildings near the palace. It’s a simple setup. We open early and close when the last person is done. That’s pretty much how we’ve always done things here in Puri. Nothing more to it really. It is just a place to eat.
