Sukhasan Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group, Sukhasan Farmer Producer Company Limited, is located in the village of Sukhasan. We work out of Jharilal Mehta’s place in Shripur Tola. If you know the Bhaptiyahi area, we aren’t too far from there. It’s a very rural spot, and most of us have lived here our whole lives. We started this company because we wanted to have a collective voice for the farmers in the Panchsukhasan area. Dealing with crops and markets on your own is hard, so we figured doing it together would be more practical. Jharilal keeps an eye on the day-to-day things. Our meetings are usually held under a tree or in a small room depending on the weather. There is always something to worry about, like the lack of rain or the price of seeds, but we just keep moving. We aren't professionals in suits. We are just people with dirt on our hands who know how to grow things. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our names and our reputation in the village. People stop by Shripur Tola all the time to ask questions or see how the harvest is looking. It’s a slow life in some ways, but we stay busy with the land. We’re just trying to keep the farms productive so everyone can get by. It’s honest work, and we don’t expect it to be easy. We take things one day at a time around here. Some days are harder than others, but that is farming.
