Mansurchak Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our small group is based out of Gobindpur village in the Ahiyapur area. It’s part of the Mansurchak block. We are basically a bunch of farmers from around here who thought it was a good idea to work as one company. It isn't a big, fancy business like you see in the cities. We mostly meet up at a small spot in the village to talk about the crops and the prices. The work is simple but it keeps us busy all year round. In Mansurchak, everyone knows everyone, so we don't need much in the way of advertising. We just do our work and help each other out when the tractor breaks or when the rain is too much. We deal with whatever grows best in our soil. Some years are better than others, and we just have to deal with that. We don't have a lot of expensive equipment, so we share what we have. It’s a practical way to survive. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or official. We just want to make sure the food we grow gets to the market and we get enough to keep going. Most of us have lived in Gobindpur all our lives. We know every corner of these fields. This company is just our way of sticking together. It’s not perfect, but it’s our way and it works for us. We just take it one day at a time.
