Shaheed Bhoomi Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based in Raskupa Bahadurpur, which is a village out in the Spn area. We operate out of Sangeev Gupta’s place. The name Shaheed Bhoomi is important to us because of the history of this land, but we don't spend much time talking about that. Mostly, we’re just busy with the daily grind of farming. There are a lot of small farmers around here who don't have much, so we try to group everything together to make it easier to sell. It’s a lot of coordination. You have to talk to twenty different people just to get one truck filled up. We spend a lot of time out in the fields or sitting on the porch at Sangeev’s house. The roads out here aren't the best, so getting things in and out can be a real headache, especially when it rains and everything turns to mud. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment. We use what we have and we help each other out when someone’s pump breaks or they need an extra hand with the harvesting. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big offices. We just want to make sure the people in Raskupa Bahadurpur get a fair shake. It’s hard work, and the sun is hot, but we’re used to it by now.
