Maa Durga Farmers Producer Company is our name. We are located in the village and post office of Upperchakmadhiya. It’s a small place. The company is connected to the family of Late Munshi Yadav. His son is the one keeping things going now. Being a farmers producer limited company means we are all about the local agriculture here. Upperchakmadhiya is one of those places where everyone knows their neighbor. We don't have a big office with glass windows. It's more of a traditional setup. We sit on plastic chairs and talk about the seeds and the weather. The legacy of Munshi Yadav is important to us. We try to work in a way that would make him proud. It’s hard work being out in the fields all day, and then coming back to handle the paperwork. But we manage. The village is quiet for the most part, except when it's harvest time. Then everything gets very busy. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are just farmers who decided to organize under the Maa Durga name. It’s a plain and simple life here. We deal with the challenges as they come, whether it's a dry spell or a problem with the transport. We are just a local group in Upperchakmadhiya trying to do right by our members and our families. There are no corporate secrets here, just farming.
