Biharraj Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based out of Rasulpur Habib in the Desri block. We use Rinku Devi’s place as a point of contact since she’s been involved from the start of this thing. We are basically just a collection of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. It's hard to get anything done alone these days, especially with how prices for seeds and fertilizer keep changing every month. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather and what's growing in the fields around the village. It isn't a big operation with desks and fancy chairs. It’s more like a group of neighbors sitting down on plastic chairs to figure out how to sell what we grow. We handle different types of crops depending on what people are planting that season. Some of us do vegetables, others do more grain. It’s all very local. Most of the people involved live within walking distance of the village center. We try to help each other out with equipment or finding buyers when the harvest is finally ready. It’s a lot of manual labor and long days in the sun. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just grow food and try to make a decent living at it. It’s simple, really. If you're looking for us, we're usually around the village near the panchayat area talking about the next harvest. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
