Baba Bhagwat Das Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our company is named Baba Bhagwat Das Farmer Producer Company Limited, and you can find us at Nandlal Madesia’s place in Baniya Tol, which is part of the Kotwamishrtrimasahun area near Bahgauchghat. It’s a bit of a journey to get here if you aren't from around these parts. We named it after Baba Bhagwat Das because he is a figure everyone in our community respects. Most of the people involved in this are just local farmers who have been working the same plots of land for generations. We got together because the market was getting too complicated for any one of us to handle on our own. We use Nandlal’s house as our main point of contact. It’s a simple place where we keep our files and meet up to discuss who is planting what and when we should try to sell. There is a lot of back and forth, and sometimes we don’t all agree on the best way forward, but we always manage to work it out. The village of Bahgauchghat is where most of us go for supplies, but Baniya Tol is where the real work happens. We don't have any big promises to make. We are just trying to use our collective strength to get a better deal on things like fertilizer and equipment. It’s a practical way to survive in a world that doesn’t always make it easy for small-scale farmers to get by.
