Advik Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Village Ramapur, right near the Meerpur post office. It’s a quiet village and we like it that way. Most of us here have been farming these lands for as long as we can remember. We set up the company to help each other out with the buying and selling part of farming. The office is just a small building in Ramapur where we keep our tools and some of the records. It’s not very big, and it can get quite hot in the summer, but it’s our central spot. We don't have any fancy talk or marketing people; we just speak the way we do at the tea stall. On most days, you can find a couple of us sitting there, looking at the ledgers and talking about the rains. Meerpur is just down the road, so we go there for most of our supplies. The work is hard and sometimes the prices aren't what we want, but we stick together. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s a simple life of working the soil and trying to get a fair deal for the harvest. We use old trucks and tractors to get around. If you come by, you’ll probably find us wearing our work clothes and drinking water from the pump. It’s just a regular local business run by regular people from the village.
