Chowdhury Mohan

Chowdhury Mohan is just a name on the door here in Palasdiha Gram. We are located in the Durgapur area, specifically in the Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Life moves a bit slower out here in the village compared to the city center. Our building is simple and surrounded by the usual trees and dusty roads you find in this part of the country. We do various bits of work and trade depending on what is needed at the time. My family has been around this area for a long time, so everyone knows the way to the house. The mornings are usually the busiest when the sun is not too high yet. We keep a ledger on the old wooden table and spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors who pass by on their way to the fields or the market. It is not a corporate office with air conditioning or anything like that. We have a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit and some heavy wooden chairs for guests. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the porch for a while. It is a practical life here in Palasdiha. We do our business, handle the paperwork for the farm stuff, and keep track of things in our own way. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know where everything is kept. That is just how we do things here every single day without much fuss or worry.
