Being in the Bhatar block, we focus on the farmers right here in our own backyard. We call it Krishi Bikash because we want to see the farming grow and get better for everyone in the village. It’s not a polished business setup. It’s more of a community hub where Soumyajit and the others keep track of what’s being planted and what’s being harvested. Burdwan is a major agricultural hub, but sometimes the smaller blocks like Bhatar can get overlooked. That’s why we have this producer company. We spend our days talking to the local growers and trying to figure out the best ways to move forward. There’s no corporate mission statement hanging on the wall. We just know that we need to work together to make ends meet. It’s a real, boots-on-the-ground kind of place.
