Anushka Engineering

Anushka Engineering is based out of Flat No. 14 in the Unique Housing Society on Dehu Road. It’s a bit unusual to have an engineering business in a housing complex, but it works for us. We use the space for our drawings and planning work. Dehu Road is a busy area, but once you get inside the society gates, it’s much quieter. We do a lot of technical work, mostly related to fabrication and small-scale machine parts. It’s not a factory; we do the thinking and the design part here. There are three of us who sit around the table with our laptops and a lot of printed charts. Sometimes the neighbors wonder what we are doing with all those blueprints, but they are used to us now. We’ve been here for a few years. The flat is a bit small for all our files, and we keep meaning to get better shelves, but we are always too busy with the current project. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one near the door. It’s a practical setup because we can work late without having to travel far. We aren't a huge firm with dozens of employees. We just take on jobs we know we can do well. Most of our clients come through word of mouth. It's just a regular flat where a lot of technical work happens every day. We might not have a fancy lobby with a fountain, but we have enough tea to keep us going through the long afternoons of calculating and drawing.
