Vijay Provision Stores

Vijay Provision Stores is a local grocery spot at Warje Malwadi 4th Main, 9th Cross 141/1. We have been serving this neighborhood for quite a long time. The shop is filled with bags of grain, spices, and all the usual things people need for their kitchens. It is a bit crowded inside because we try to stock as much as possible. You have to navigate around the sacks on the floor. We know most of the families who live on the 9th Cross. They come in for their daily milk or to restock their pantry. We use a heavy old scale for weighing out the dal and rice. It is reliable and hasn't failed us yet. The atmosphere is very casual. We often spend time chatting with the elderly regulars about the weather or local news. It’s not a supermarket where everything is wrapped in plastic. Here, things are a bit more traditional. Sometimes the children from the school nearby come in for a small snack after classes are over. We keep a ledger for the regular accounts, writing everything down by hand. It is a lot of work to keep track of the inventory, but we enjoy being part of the daily life here in Warje Malwadi. We open up early to catch the morning crowd and don't close until late at night. It is just how we have always done it.
