Vaksana Goat Producer Company Limited

Vaksana Goat Producer Company is run out of Mothegaon, specifically at Shankar Bhimrao Deshmukh’s place. We are a small group of folks in Risod who decided to get together to handle our goat farming better. It’s a producer company, which means it’s owned by the people who actually raise the animals. We don't have a big corporate building; we mostly meet up at the house or out in the fields where the goats are grazing. Raising goats takes a lot of patience because they can be stubborn and they get into everything. We spend a lot of time talking about breeding, what they should be eating, and making sure they stay healthy through the seasons. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really dry and the grass starts to disappear. We share what we know and try to help each other out so everyone gets a fair price for their livestock. Sometimes we have meetings to decide on things, and those can go on for a while because everyone has their own opinion on how to do things. But in the end, we all want the same thing, which is for our families to do well. It's a very local way of doing business, and it feels right for us here in the village. We’re just regular people trying to make a living from the land.
