Our place is Shed 8, F-2 Block, in the MIDC area of Pimpri. It’s a typical industrial shed. If you come by Universal Engineering And Manufacturing Indusry, you’ll hear the sound of lathes and milling machines running. It’s a noisy neighborhood because everyone around here is making something or other. We have some oil on the floor and stacks of metal rods waiting to be turned into something useful. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you want to see what we do, you just have to walk onto the shop floor. The air smells like cutting fluid and metal shavings. We have a few guys who have been running these machines for years, and they can tell if something is wrong just by the sound it makes. Sometimes we take on small jobs for locals, and other times we are working on a big batch of parts for weeks. It’s a lot of measuring and checking and then checking again. We don't use much fancy software; it’s more about the skill of the hands. Pimpri is a busy hub, and we fit right in with the rest of the workshops. It’s a dusty, loud life, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished part come off the machine.
