Unik Engineering Systems

If you head down Sinhagad Road in Pune and take the turn into Nanded Village, you will find us at S.No. 25/5A/1/1C. Unik Engineering Systems is a place where there is always a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We have been here for a while and the area has changed a lot, but we are still doing the same kind of work. The shop is full of parts and machines that we use every day to put things together. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s an engineering shop, so that’s how it goes. I spend most of my time checking on drawings and making sure the guys are cutting things the right way. Pune-411041 is our patch and we mostly deal with local folks who need stuff fixed or built. Sometimes we have to work late when a big order comes in, and the sound of the machines keeps the neighbors awake. We don’t have a big front office, just a small desk where we keep the bills and the phone. It gets really hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we just drink a lot of water and keep going. We don’t talk much while we work because the noise is too loud. It is a hard job but someone has to do it. We just focus on the metal in front of us.
