The Dukes Retreat A Keys Resort

This place is out in Khandala, right by the Three Gates on the Old Pune Mumbai Highway. It’s a bit of a different vibe out here compared to the city. The pin code is 410301. Being on the highway means we get a lot of travelers who are driving between Pune and Mumbai. On rainy days, the fog comes right up to the gates and you can hardly see the road. The Dukes Retreat A Keys Resort is a long name, but we just go by the day-to-day work of keeping the rooms and the kitchen ready. It’s a big property, so there’s always something breaking or needing a fix. We have a lot of staff running around to make sure the grounds look okay. It’s not always perfect; sometimes the monkeys from the hills come down and cause a bit of trouble or the mountain air makes everything a bit damp. We don't have a fancy speech about what we do. We just provide a place for people to stop when they are tired of driving. The highway noise is always there in the background, but it’s quieter than the city. We spend our mornings checking the arrivals and making sure the kitchen has enough supplies coming up from the valley. It’s just a mountain job for most of us, staying busy while the weather changes outside.
