We have been situated here on Senapati Bapat Marg in Pune for quite a while now. Running a place like Encore Hotels keeps us on our toes, mostly because there is always something that needs fixing or someone checking in late. It is not a flashy life, but it is our life. We spend the morning hours making sure the lobby looks okay and the rooms are ready for whoever might show up next. People come through from all over, some for work and some just passing through the city. We don't really have a fancy philosophy about it. We just open the doors every day and do what needs to be done. The traffic outside can get pretty loud, especially in the evenings, but you get used to it after a few months. Our staff is just a few local people who know how to handle the front desk and the laundry. We have had our share of leaks and broken light bulbs over the years. That is just part of the deal when you run a building like this. We do not spend money on big ads or trying to look like a giant chain. We are just here in Pune, doing the work and hoping the guests have a decent night’s sleep. It is simple, everyday stuff for us. We just keep the keys ready and the registers balanced as well as we can.
