Tanishka Milk Dairy

Every morning starts before the sun even shows up here in Kharadi. I usually get the shutters up by 5 AM because that is when the milk truck pulls in near Lalbaug. It’s cold most days, and the crates make a lot of noise on the pavement. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Most people around here know where to find us. It’s just a small place, nothing fancy at all. We spend a lot of time just moving bottles and packets around the fridge. Sometimes the fridge acts up, and we have to fix it before the afternoon heat kicks in. There is always a lot of cleaning to do. Spilled milk smells pretty bad if you don’t get it right away. My kids sometimes help out after school, but they mostly just hang around. Customers usually come in a hurry, wanting their tea supplies before work. We don't say much, just a quick hello and the change. Sometimes we run out of the full cream stuff early, and people get a bit annoyed, but that is just how it goes. The street outside gets really busy by 9 AM. Traffic in Kharadi has gotten much worse over the years. I remember when it was quiet. Now it is just horns and dust all day. We just stay inside the shop and keep the stock moving. It is a simple life, really. Just milk and bread and making sure the crates are back outside for the morning pickup.
