Our shop, Vadilal Narrotam Dass Sons, sits at Shop Number 231 in Raviwar Peth. It is an old part of the city, and the streets around here are quite narrow and full of life. We are on the New Ipcl Road, which stays busy from the time the sun comes up. If you are looking for us, we are quite near the Subhansha Police Station. That is the landmark most people use when they are trying to find their way through the maze of Raviwar Peth. The shop itself is not very large, but we make use of every inch of space we have on the shelves. It feels like time moves a bit differently here compared to the newer parts of town. We have been here at Shop No 231 for a long time. You can hear the sounds of the market all day, from the carts rolling by to the people talking loudly. It is a bit chaotic, but that is just the character of the Peth areas. We open the shutters early and stay until the evening rush starts to fade. There is a lot of history in these walls, even if we do not talk about it much. We just focus on the daily tasks and talking to the regulars who stop by. It is a honest way to spend the day in a busy market. The New Ipcl Road can be dusty, but this is home for our business.
