Swaraj Dairy

Swaraj Dairy is situated at Vadgaon Budruk, right between the 4th and 5th Cross on Mallasandra Main Road. We deal with milk and milk products, so our day starts much earlier than most people. Usually, we are up and ready before the sun is even out to receive the milk cans. The shop has a lot of refrigerators to keep the milk, curd, and butter cold. It smells like fresh dairy in here, which is something you get used to after a few days. The floor is usually a bit wet because we are constantly cleaning and moving crates around. People from the surrounding streets come by every morning to pick up their packets for breakfast. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s mostly just white tiles and stainless steel. It’s a physical job, lifting heavy crates and making sure the temperature in the coolers is just right. Mallasandra Main Road gets very busy with traffic, so we try to serve people quickly so they can get on with their commute. We don't have a big office, just a small corner where we keep the books. It’s a simple, honest business and we have been doing this for a long time. Every day is the same routine, but we like being the place where the neighborhood gets its milk. We keep a close eye on the dates of everything because fresh milk doesn't wait for anyone. The hum of the cooling units is the main sound we hear all day long. It’s a steady kind of work and we take it seriously here on Mallasandra Main Road.
