Sunny Pharma

Sunny Pharma is out in Theur, right near the Pune District Central Co-Operative Bank. It is a bit quieter out here compared to the main city areas. We are in a spot where people coming to the bank often stop by for a minute. The air feels a bit fresher in Theur, and there are more trees around than in the crowded parts of Pune. Our shop is a simple room with white-washed walls and a tile floor that we sweep every morning when we arrive. We have a counter in the front and rows of glass-fronted cabinets for the medicines. Sometimes the local dogs lounge near the entrance because it is a bit cooler on the stone there. We spend the day waiting for the bus to pass or for the bank crowd to thin out. It is a slow pace of life, which is fine by us. We keep a small radio on the shelf for the news and some background music. The power can be a bit unreliable sometimes, but we have a backup battery for the lights. We know most of the people who live in the village nearby. They come in and talk about the weather or the crops while we look for what they need on the shelves. There is no big rush here. We just make sure the stock is kept tidy and the shop is open on time. It is a small business that fits right into the neighborhood rhythm.
