New Cell Care

New Cell Care is a little place we have over on Sir Bhalchandra Road 2 in Kothrud. It’s a narrow street and parking can be a real nightmare if you come at the wrong time of day. We’ve been here long enough that we’ve seen shops around us change hands many times. Our shop is small and filled with the smell of flux and heated plastic. We spend a lot of time looking through magnifying glasses at tiny circuits. People come in with all sorts of issues, from phones that fell in water to screens that look like spiderwebs. We don't have a big front desk or a receptionist. Usually, whoever isn't holding a soldering iron at that moment is the one who talks to the customers. We have shelves full of old phone parts that might come in handy someday, though they mostly just gather dust. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. It’s a simple setup. We don't try to make it look like something it's not. It’s just a workspace where we try to fix what’s broken. Kothrud is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the street coming through the door. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a tricky job, but we don't mind much as long as the work gets done right.
