Sun Rise Heel Resort

We’ve been here on Khandala Station Road for quite a while now. Most people find us because we're right across from the Government Rest House. It's a busy enough spot but once you walk inside, things slow down a bit. This place, Sun Rise Heel Resort, isn't fancy or anything like those big chains you see in the city. We just have rooms and a bit of space for people who want to visit the hills without spending too much money. Sometimes the trains are loud, but that's just part of being near the station. My family helps run things here. We make sure the sheets are clean and there's water in the buckets or taps. People usually come here on weekends from Mumbai or Pune. They just want a place to drop their bags while they go look at the sunset points or walk around the market. It gets very foggy here in the monsoon, which is nice. We don't have a big fancy menu, just some basic food if you're hungry. Usually, people just eat out at the small stalls nearby. We just keep the gates open and try to help if someone asks for a spare towel or directions to the falls. It’s just a simple building, really. Nothing more to it. We've seen the road change over the years, more cars now than before. But the air still feels better than the city. That's why we're still here doing this.
