Shriji Ice Cream

Down in Kondhwa Khurd at MS Palya 3, you will find our ice cream shop. It is a very basic place without any big signs or bright flashing lights. We just have the name on the front and the tubs inside. The building itself is older, and you can see a few marks on the walls. Keeping the place cool in the middle of a hot day is a real struggle. Those freezers have to work hard all year round. Most of my time is spent checking the stock and helping whoever walks through the door. It is mainly people from the local neighborhood who stop by. Kids coming home from school usually want the flavors with the brightest colors. My hands get pretty cold because of the metal scoop I use all day. There isn't much space to sit down, just a couple of stools in the corner. Most customers just eat their treats while they walk home. When it gets quiet, I usually listen to the radio to pass the time. Because the street outside is often dusty, I try to keep the door shut. Running this small business is mostly a one-person job. I have learned all the quirks, like which freezer lid is hard to slide. It is nothing fancy, just a local spot for a cold snack in Kondhwa. I don't even notice the traffic noise anymore. Sometimes we run out of the popular chocolate cones before the day ends, which is always a bit annoying.
