Shreepad Medical & General Store

This shop is at 526 Shop No 14 in Punit Appt, which is right in the Narayan Peth area of Pune. Being near the Modi Ganpati Temple means there are always people around, especially during festival times. We keep a mix of things here, mostly medicines and general items that people need in a hurry. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling because the space is not very wide. We use a small stool to reach the top rows where we keep the things that don't sell as often. It is a bit cramped when more than three people come inside at once. Pune has its own pace and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the city over the years. We spend a lot of time checking dates on the medicine boxes to make sure everything is right. The apartment building is old but it stays sturdy. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up soap or maybe some bandages. We have a small light over the counter so we can see the prescriptions properly. The floor tiles are a bit worn down from all the walking. We don't have a big sign, just enough for the local people to find us when they need something for a headache or a cold. It is just a regular daily job for us here.
