Shree Vishwakarma Saw Mill

Our mill is located inside the Morya Industrial Estate, specifically at Gala Number 78. If you’ve ever been to M.I.D.C., you know it’s a lot of industrial units packed together. Shree Vishwakarma Saw Mill has been running out of this space for a long time. It’s usually pretty dusty inside because of all the wood we cut. The smell of fresh sawdust is something you never quite get out of your clothes, but it’s not a bad smell. We work on various types of timber, mostly just cutting things to size for whoever needs it. It’s loud in the mornings when all the saws are going at once. We have to shout to hear each other over the machines. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a bunch of us who know how to handle the equipment. We take breaks when there’s a lull in orders. The floor is always covered in wood shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s hard work on the hands, lots of splinters if you aren’t careful. We’ve seen other businesses come and go in this block, but we’ve managed to stay put. People know where to find us in the T-201/1 section. We just do the work, load the trucks, and keep things moving. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. There is always a lot of noise, but we like the rhythm of it all.
