If you ever find yourself at Vivekanand Chowk in Nigidi, you will see Shree Swami Samath Dairy & Icecream. It’s a local spot where people stop by for their daily milk or a cold treat. We have a few deep freezers that hum all day long. The smell of fresh dairy is always in the air. We keep the place clean, though the floor can get a bit wet from the coolers. It’s a small shop, so on hot days, it gets pretty crowded with kids wanting ice cream after school. We also have regular customers who come every morning for their milk and curd. We know most of them by face. There isn't much space to sit, so people usually just stand around outside or take their stuff to go. The chowk is a busy intersection, so there is always a lot to look at while we work. We don’t do any fancy advertising. People know we are here because they pass by on their way to work or the market. Sometimes we run out of certain items if it's a particularly busy weekend, but we try to keep the shelves stocked. It’s a simple life, selling basic things that people need every day. We enjoy being a part of the daily routine for the folks in Nigidi. It feels good to provide something that people want, especially the kids with their ice cream. We’ve been here for years and we’ve seen the kids grow up and bring their own families in now. It's nice to see that.
