Shree Bharka Devi Ice Cream

Running an ice cream place at Pankornaka in Alandi Devachi is interesting because of all the people passing through. It gets really hot in the afternoons so that’s when we usually see the most faces. We keep the freezers running all day and night which is a big job in itself. You wouldn't think it but keeping ice cream at just the right coldness takes some work. We have different flavors but most people just stick to the ones they know. We don’t have much space for sitting inside so most folks just grab their cone or cup and keep walking. It’s a busy little corner of the world. Sometimes the machines act up or the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep everything from melting. It’s just part of the job I guess. We aren’t trying to be one of those fancy parlors you see in the city. We just provide something cold for when it's burning up outside. The floors need mopping a lot because of the drips. We’ve been at this spot for a bit now and we know most of the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a nice community feel here at Alandi Devachi. We just open up in the morning and stay until the last person leaves at night. It’s pretty simple really. We just hope the fridge stays cold and the customers leave happy enough with their scoops. It is a decent way to make a living for us and keep the local folks cool.
