Service Engineer

We are based on Odaikara Street in T. Velur Village. It’s part of the Thanipadi post office area in the Thiruvannamalai district. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but for the people living in this part of the world, we are the local Service Engineer they rely on. The street is usually quiet, and the village life is far removed from the rush of the big cities. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We work out of a simple space where we keep all our gear. Most of the time, the work involves helping people with their daily equipment or fixing things that have broken down from heavy use. We don't use a lot of technical jargon when we talk to our neighbors. We just explain what needs to be done in plain words. Sometimes we have to go out into the fields or other villages nearby if the equipment is too big to move. It is a lot of physical work, and our hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. But there is a certain satisfaction in seeing something start up again after it’s been sitting dead for a week. We’ve been part of this community for a long time, and we just try to do our bit without making a big fuss about it. That is pretty much our story and how we spend our days.
