People walk in here every day from the Bund Garden Road area. It gets a bit noisy sometimes because we have several students practicing at once. You can hear the harmonium from the street before you even get to the door. We are tucked away near Patwardhan Baugh in Sushilanagari Phase 1. The rooms aren't huge, but they fit the instruments well enough. Some students have been coming for years, while others just started last week. We spend a lot of time tuning instruments and organizing the schedule. The chairs in the waiting area are a bit old, but they work. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the windows quite hard, so we keep the curtains closed. It is a busy place in Karve Nagar. Most of the teaching happens in the evenings when school and work are over. We keep extra strings and cleaning cloths around the shelves. There is a lot of paper everywhere with music notes scribbled on them. People usually find us by looking for the Canara Bank Road signs. It is just a normal place where people come to learn. Sometimes the floor gets dusty from all the foot traffic, especially during the monsoon months. We just keep the fans going and try to keep things moving. It isn't a fancy setup, but it serves the purpose for those living around here. Everyone just focuses on their own practice and the teachers help out wherever they are needed.
