Samartha Framing

I spend my days surrounded by bits of wood and pieces of glass at Samartha Framing. We are located on Sinhagad Road, inside the Hill View Estate, specifically at 5-53 in Aapte Colony. From where we are, you can sometimes get a glimpse of the hills if the weather is clear, hence the name of the estate. The shop is usually covered in a thin layer of sawdust, no matter how much I sweep. Framing is a slow business. You have to measure everything twice and cut it just right, or the whole thing looks wrong. I’ve seen all sorts of things come through the door—old family photos, kids' drawings, and even some fancy diplomas. People tell me the stories behind the pictures while I’m looking for the right frame. It’s nice to hear those bits of history. Aapte Colony is a relatively quiet place compared to the main road. We don't get a huge rush of people, just a steady stream of folks from around the neighborhood. Sometimes I have to go out and find specific materials if a customer wants something unusual. It’s just me and the tools most of the time. I don't have a big website or anything. I just do the work and hope people like how their pictures look on the wall. It’s a quiet, honest way to spend the day here on Sinhagad Road, making things look nice for our neighbors.
