About Sakhare Milk Dairy & Ice Cream Parlour – Food & Beverages in Pune
Down in Hinjawadi 4, we have the shop set up to handle all the folks coming back from their office jobs. Most people know us for the cold stuff. The refrigerators hum loudly all day and night, which is a sound I’ve just gotten used to over the years. In the mornings, the milk crates get dropped off and we have to stack them up before the sun gets too high. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. The ice cream side of things is busier in the evenings when families bring their kids out for a treat. I usually have to wipe down the counters constantly because of the spills. We keep a few chairs outside on the pavement so people can sit for a bit. Hinjawadi has changed a lot since we first opened, with all the big buildings going up around us, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. I spend a lot of my time checking the temperatures on the fridge displays to make sure everything stays frozen. Sometimes the kids get a bit loud and messy, but that is just part of having an ice cream place. We also sell basic dairy stuff for the local kitchens. It’s a straightforward business, really. We open up early and stay late until the last light on the street goes off. Often, I stay a bit longer just to organize the freezer for the next morning.
