We have been here at Nikhil Chambers in Shaniwar Peth for quite a while now. Most people know the building because it is a busy spot at 1330. We are right on the first floor, so you have to walk up the stairs to get to our desk. It is not a fancy place with big leather chairs or anything like that. It is just a regular office with some desks and plenty of folders piled up. My own desk is usually covered in papers because financial work involves a lot of documents and signatures. People come in when they have questions about their money or need help with some paperwork they do not quite understand. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just staring at computer screens. Sometimes the traffic outside on the street gets pretty loud, but we are used to it by now. Dealing with banks and tax forms can be a real headache for most folks, so they just drop by here instead of trying to do it themselves. Usually, we are just drinking some tea and going through files one by one to make sure everything is in order. It is quiet work most of the time, but there is always something to finish before we go home. We have known the other shop owners around Shaniwar Peth for years. It is a tight space, but it works for what we do. We stay until the job is done, even when it gets late.
