Our place is called Samruddhi, and it sits within the Ajinkyatara Industrial Estate. If you know Vadgaon Khurd, you know how busy it gets around here. We are at 37/3, right off Sinhagad Road. It’s a typical industrial area, so there is always the sound of trucks reversing or metal clanging somewhere in the distance. We’ve been here for years and the building has become like a second home to us. It’s not a corporate headquarters with marble floors. It’s a workshop and an office combined. We have some heavy shelves and a lot of tools scattered around the back area. The front part is where we handle the bills and the phone calls. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. Sinhagad Road is always jammed in the evenings, so we usually stay a bit late to let the traffic clear out. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are always wiping down the desks. It’s just the way it is in this part of Pune. We aren't doing anything fancy. Most of our neighbors are also small businesses trying to get through the day. We share a laugh with the security guard at the gate and keep to ourselves mostly. It’s a decent spot for the work we do.
