Sachin Forge

Over at Sanaswadi, specifically on Church Street at number 943, is where you’ll find Sachin Forge. It’s a place where things are made and metal gets worked on. It’s definitely not a clean or quiet environment. There’s usually the sound of machinery and the smell of grease and heat. That’s just the nature of a forge. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been working with our hands for a long time. We take pieces of metal and turn them into whatever the order calls for. It’s heavy work and at the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired and covered in soot. We don't have a front desk person or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the floor working on a project. We just talk over the noise. It’s a practical setup meant for production, not for showing off. The address on Church Street is easy enough to find if you know the area. We’ve had some of the same machines for years because they still work perfectly fine. We don't see the point in replacing things just for the sake of it. It’s a straightforward business. We get an order, we make the parts, and we move on to the next one. It’s what we know how to do. Some people might find it messy, but we think it’s just the way a real workshop should look.
